Indianapolis, IN (October 21, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred in Washington County on Saturday evening, resulting in the death of an Indianapolis woman. At approximately 7 p.m., Indiana State Police (ISP) responded to the scene of a collision involving a motorcycle and a 2002 Toyota Corolla on U.S. Highway 150.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a red and black 2025 Honda trike was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 150, situated between Becks Mill Road and High Street in Fredericksburg. The accident transpired when the driver of the Toyota pulled out from a private driveway located on the south side of the highway, directly into the path of the motorcycle.
The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the motorcycle’s occupants being thrown from the vehicle. Tragically, 67-year-old Theresa Marie Spencer was killed in the crash. The other occupant of the trike sustained injuries characterized by ISP as “severe but non-life-threatening” and was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries and was taken to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Salem for evaluation. As of the latest updates, ISP reported that there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were factors contributing to the crash.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Theresa Marie Spencer during this difficult time.
