Fredonia, NY (January 7, 2023) – A 48-year-old man from Brockport, New York, has died following a pedestrian current that took place in Fredonia on Friday evening.
At around 6 p.m., on January 6, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene of a traffic accident on Route 60.
According to authorities, 48-year-old Richard Lorek was attempting to cross Route 60 in the area near Qwik Fill when he was struck by a vehicle.
Lorek was severely injured in the crash. He was rushed to Brooks Hospital by ambulance. Authorities confirm that he later passed away from his injuries.
At this time, the Fredonia Police Department, the New York State police, and the Sheriff’s office are investigating.
