Freedom Township, MN (October 21, 2024) – A traffic accident occurred in Freedom Township on October 20, 2024, at approximately 5:34 p.m. The incident took place at the intersection of Highway 83 and 280th Avenue, involving a semi-truck and a Ford F350 pickup.
According to reports, a 1980 Peterbilt semi-truck, driven by 71-year-old Dale Curtis Ewert of Janesville, was traveling eastbound on 280th Avenue when it failed to yield at the intersection, resulting in a collision with a 2000 Ford F350, operated by 48-year-old James Bradley Anderson from Madison Lake. Fortunately, both drivers did not sustain any injuries and did not require medical attention.
Emergency responders from Waseca County Sheriff's Office, Waldorf Fire Department, New Richland EMS, and North Memorial EMS were dispatched to the scene. While Mr. Ewert and Mr. Anderson were unharmed, one passenger in the Ford F350, 31-year-old Karissa Joann Albrecht from Gaylord, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to MCHS for evaluation. An additional passenger, 86-year-old James Gudman Anderson from Madison Lake, did not sustain any injuries.
