Freeport, ME (December 02, 2024) – A two-vehicle crash occurred early Monday morning on Interstate 295 in Freeport, resulting in one driver being hospitalized. The collision took place shortly before 7:30 AM in the southbound lanes, near mile marker 22. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene.

Emergency responders, including Freeport Rescue, quickly transported the driver of the Toyota to Maine Medical Center with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the Volkswagen complained of minor pain but declined to be transported to the hospital.

However, after a brief delay, drivers were able to pass the scene using a third lane that had been created by the merging on-ramp from Exit 22.
