Fresno, CA – Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at North Bishop Ave and West Shields Ave; Fatality Confirmed

Fresno, CA (July 26, 2023) – On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred at North Bishop Avenue and West Shields Avenue in Fresno County, near Kerman.

The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash at 8:30 p.m.

A purple Honda Pilot SUV hit the victim on the road.

A witness told 911 operators that the driver stopped on the right shoulder while the seriously injured pedestrian lay in the northbound Bishop Avenue lane.

The driver left without helping.

The victim died despite paramedics arriving.

The case is under investigation.
