Gallows, VA (July 17, 2023) – Multiple law enforcement agencies were summoned to provide help at the scene of a major accident that occurred in Fairfax County on Saturday morning and ended in injuries.
At around 3:53 a.m. on July 15, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department assisted police at the scene of a crash on Interstate 495.
The accident blocked multiple lanes on the southbound side of the roadway just before Gallows Road.
Multiple first responders rushed to the scene to provide assistance with clearing debris and damaged vehicles from the road. Police officers with the Fairfax County Police Department and the Virginia State Police controlled the traffic that traveled through the area as additional officers actively cleared the crash site and initiated their investigations.
One EMS unit responded to the scene to care for victims and transport them to local hospitals.
Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
