Galveston, TX ( July 24, 2023) – According to the Galveston Police Department, a person in a wheelchair was crossing the street at the intersection when they were struck by a vehicle.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023.
Witnesses reported that the driver of a white Hyundai sedan traveling westbound through the intersection hit the person in the wheelchair.
The victim, a male whose identity has not been disclosed, was taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene.
Nevertheless, an investigation of the incident is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances and factors involved in the tragic accident.
