Garner, NC (July 10, 2023) – Five people, including a kid, were sent to the hospital in Garner following a serious collision on Saturday afternoon, July 8, 2023.
Near 1220 New Bethel Church Road, a white vehicle and an SUV were involved in a collision.
A state trooper reported seeing a vehicle with three young individuals and a kid and an SUV with a male passenger.
As reported by Highway Patrol on Sunday, sadly, one of the young people succumbed to their injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, a loud explosion prompted them to rush to rescue the victims.
While firefighters freed another victim, others used hammers to free a third.
The town is in confusion and mourning as they wait for officials to determine what caused the tragedy.
