Hall County, GA (July 27, 2020) – A fatal traffic accident took place on a roadway in Hall County this past Wednesday afternoon that took the life of one person and injured another.
Hall County authorities stated that a Gainesville man was being apprehended by authorities when he fled a traffic stop in his vehicle and smashed into another car, killing the driver and critically injuring his female passenger.
Christopher Wayne Sosebee, 30, was traveling on Bethel Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. in a Chevy Equinox accompanied by a female passenger. A Georgia State Patrolman attempted to pull the vehicle over for a traffic violation but Sosebee opted to flee the scene and engage in a high-speed pursuit.
After about a half-mile chase, Sosebee veered onto the south shoulder of Bethel road, went up an embankment, and landed on top of another vehicle, a work truck, owned and driven by Brian Allen Hayes.
Hayes was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The passenger present in Sosebee’s vehicle at the time of the crash, Tiffany Lynn Franklin, 28, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Sosebee also sustained serious injuries in the wreck and is currently in the hospital recovering. He faces a slew of charges including vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, obstruction of law enforcement, among others.
