Milledgeville, GA (October 7, 2020) – A pedestrian was sent to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle on a roadway in downtown Milledgeville this past Sunday morning.
The pedestrian was identified as 22-year-old Summer Dorsey, a college student. She had exited a vehicle on South Wayne Street and made her way to the sidewalk when she decided to run back to the vehicle she exited, which was in the process of pulling away.
Upon re-entering the roadway, Dorsey was struck by a car. The wreck occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, October 4.
Dorsey was treated by several medical professionals at the crash scene, including Milledgeville Fire Rescue personnel and Grady Emergency Medical Services. She was then transported to Navicent Health in Macon to receive further treatment for her injuries.
The nature and magnitude of her injuries have not been publicly disclosed at this time.
Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the contributing factors of the crash. The person who struck Dorsey was driving a Honda Accord and was later identified as Adrianna Reeves.
No further information has been released at this time as police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
