Savannah, GA (September 15, 2020) – A pedestrian was injured in an accident that took place on a roadway in Savannah this morning.
The wreck occurred on Montgomery Cross Road in the morning hours of September 15 for reasons still being determined by police.
Authorities were performing a regular patrol of the area in the 200 block of Montgomery Cross when they noticed a woman pedestrian in distress in the roadway. A man driving a Dodge Dakota struck the woman in the roadway.
He apparently attempted to slow down upon approaching the area but was unable to stop in time.
The woman, who remains unidentified at this time, was transported to a nearby hospital for the treatment of serious injuries sustained in the crash.
The male driver has not currently been identified.
No further information has been publicly provided at this time.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident will be carried out by local police.
