Germantown, MD (February 24, 2023) – Several lanes of travel on Interstate 270 were blocked as a result of an automobile accident that occurred early Thursday morning in the Germantown area and ended in injuries.
Just before 8:00 a.m. on February 23, the Maryland State Police were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle collision on the northbound side of Interstate 270.
According to officials, a crash blocked the northbound side of the interstate near Middlebrook Road. The incident occurred on the center lanes of travel, causing delays in the area.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene to provide care to the victims who suffered injuries. Those who required further medical attention were transported by ambulance to local hospitals.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation.
