Grass Valley, CA (March 19, 2025) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday night on Highway 49 near Wolf Rd, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The accident occurred around 10:09 p.m. when a vehicle traveling on Highway 49 collided with the pedestrian. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the victim succumbed to their injuries before they could be transported to a hospital. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending family notification.
Officials are investigating the circumstances of the crash, including whether speed, lighting conditions, or driver impairment contributed to the fatal accident.
Traffic in the area was impacted as CHP officers conducted their investigation and cleared the roadway. Motorists were advised to use caution while traveling through the area.
