Grayson County, KY (September 18, 2023) – A tragic wrong-way collision on KY-79 resulted in the death of an Indiana woman on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

Authorities report that 53-year-old Amy Embry drove north on KY-79.

Unexpectedly, she veered into the southbound lane, colliding head-on with a car.

A third vehicle then crashed into them.

Embry, from New Albany, was rushed to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Occupants of the other cars suffered non-life-threatening injuries or were unharmed.

The reason for Embry’s lane deviation remains unclear.

The investigation is still ongoing.
