Greenburgh, NY (March 24, 2023) – Law enforcement officials with the New York State Police say that an intoxicated driver has been placed under arrest after causing a wrong-way two-vehicle injury accident in the town of Greenburgh. The crash was reported on Thursday night, March 23rd, at approximately 10:45 p.m.
According to reports from the NYSP, a man identified as 38-year-old Juan Sinchim of Port Chester was north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 87 (NYS Thruway) and subsequently struck another vehicle head-on. The collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles and emergency responders were called to the scene a short time later.
Responding paramedics transported both Sinchim and the other driver to Westchester Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Sinchim was arrested and has since been charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
