Greenland, NH (October 24, 2024) – A serious motor vehicle accident occurred just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, on Interstate 95 South, resulting in injuries to two individuals. State Troopers from the Troop A barracks responded to reports of a rollover crash on the highway.
Upon arrival, Troopers discovered that a vehicle had crossed the median from the northbound lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle traveling southbound. Both drivers, who were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for medical care.
The crash led to the temporary closure of all southbound lanes on I-95 for approximately one hour while authorities conducted an investigation and cleared debris from the roadway. One lane remained closed for an additional half-hour to ensure the area was safe for motorists.
Emergency responders from the Greenland Police Department, Greenland Fire Department, North Hampton Fire & Rescue, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
At this time, the identities of the drivers have not been released, and no charges have been filed. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
