Halifax, VA (May 19, 2023) – The Virginia State Police confirmed that 54-year-old Gary Williams and 31-year-old Chad Whitt both suffered fatal injuries as a result of a car crash that took place in Halifax County. The accident was reported at around 8:15 p.m. on May 14.
According to officials, a car was traveling north in the 1100 block of McGees Mill Road. At the same time, a pickup truck was going around the curb. For reasons unknown, the two vehicles collided.
Two people involved in the crash, identified as Williams and Witt, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three other victims suffered injuries. The injured parties were transported to area hospitals for emergency care.
At this time, the incident is being investigated by the Virginia State Police.
