Hampton, VA – 59-year-old Woman Loses Life in Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Hampton, VA (December 18, 2020) – One person lost their life after a fatal vehicle-pedestrian crash that took place on a roadway in Hampton. According to police, the crash took place on Thursday, December 17, in the evening hours.

The crash occurred in the 2700 block of West Mercury Boulevard at Aberdeen Road at approximately 4:47 p.m. Information from the preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was trying to cross the street at the intersection when she was hit by a passing car. 

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The driver who struck her remained at the crash scene in order to cooperate with authorities.

Those involved in the collision have yet to be identified as few details about the crash and its circumstances have currently been released. The woman was only identified as a 59-year-old female.

Closures were issued in the area the crash took place to allow police to carry out an investigation. No further information has currently been disclosed.
