Hampton, VA (January 16, 2023) – Emergency officials were called to provide help at the scene of a crash on Saturday in the Hampton area. On January 14, the Virginia State Police were notified that their assistance was needed at a vehicle wreck at the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.
Reports from authorities show that at around 5:30 p.m., a chain-reaction crash between several vehicles occurred on the roadway. The incident caused multiple vehicles to catch on fire.
Firefighters and police responded to the scene and closed off the roadway. Firefighters went to work immediately on extinguishing the blaze.
One person was injured in the accident and had to be transported to a local hospital for further care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
