Hanceville, AL (September 19, 2023) – A devastating collision on Saturday morning, September 16, 2023, resulted in two fatalities.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Alabama 91, eight miles south of Hanceville.
22-year-old Sydni Helms of Jasper and an unidentified individual tragically lost their lives.
Helms was operating a Jeep Wrangler, which crashed head-on with a Chrysler 300.
The aftermath saw both vehicles engulfed in flames.
Authorities are awaiting identification of the Chrysler’s driver from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
The case remains under the scrutiny of the ALEA Highway Patrol Division.
The investigation is still ongoing.
