Hasbrouck Heights, NJ (October 16, 2024) – A serious four-vehicle accident occurred around 6:30 PM at the intersection of Route 46 and Collins. Emergency responders, including Chiefs 60, 61, and 62, along with Squad 1, Engine 2, and Engine 3, were dispatched to the scene following reports of multiple parties entrapped and injured.
Upon arrival, the first responding Chief confirmed that entrapment had occurred, prompting the transmission of a 10-30, which indicates a serious situation requiring additional resources. The crew from Squad 1 immediately began extricating two individuals trapped inside one of the vehicles. Given the severity of the entrapment, assistance was requested from the Wood-Ridge Fire Department Rescue to aid in the removal of the patients.
Both individuals trapped in the vehicle received medical treatment from emergency medical services (EMS) for their injuries. The details regarding the extent of their injuries have not been disclosed, and the incident remains under investigation.
