Haverstraw, NY (February 26, 2023) – A fatal traffic accident was reported to officials in Haverstraw on Sunday morning, February 26. Reports show one person lost their life and another was critically injured.
The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of the Palisades Parkway. Police say an SUV crashed near exit 14, taking the life of one occupant and critically injuring another.
At this time, the New York State Police are investigating the details of the accident. At the scene, an SUV was split in two due to the force of the crash. The rear end of the vehicle was found next to a tree.
First responders worked at the scene for an extended period of time on the morning of February 26. A blue tarp was seen covering a section of the vehicle, indicating that a fatality had taken place.
At this time, those involved have not been identified. Authorities in Haverstraw continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
