Henrico, VA (January 27, 2025) – Henrico Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday, January 25, in the Varina District. The crash happened around 5:41 p.m. at the intersection of Williamsburg Road (Route 60) and Whiteside Road.
According to police, the crash involved a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Nissan Altima. Preliminary reports indicate that Justin Lee Butler Jr., 21, of Henrico, was driving westbound on Williamsburg Road when the Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling southbound on Whiteside Road, entered the intersection and struck the front side of Mr. Butler’s vehicle.
Mr. Butler sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police noted that Mr. Butler was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The two occupants of the Chevrolet Tahoe were also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Henrico Police’s Crash Team is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the factors contributing to the collision.
