Henrietta, NY (November 28, 2020) – Around 8:30 p.m. on Friday night, November 27, a pedestrian accident took place in Henrietta.

According to police, the accident took place along the New York State Thruway. Troopers were called to the scene where they found that a driver was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lane of traffic. The driver then turned around and started to drive in the correct direction. He struck two vehicles and got into physical altercations with both drivers.

The driver fled the scene of the accidents and then drove into a rest area where he intentionally struck a pedestrian who was walking out of the building. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver was later found by police, who shot at his vehicle. The suspect got out of his vehicle and fled the scene on foot but was caught by police. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Emmett Ellis, was arrested on charges of second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and third-degree assault.

The investigation into the accident continues.
