Henry County, VA (September 24, 2021) – One child was hospitalized following an accident on Thursday afternoon in Henry County. On September 23, the Virginia State Police responded to the scene of an accident on Virginia State Route 57.

Reports from authorities show that an 8-year-old elementary school student was exiting their school bus in the 8000 block of Virginia State Route 57, near Lawrence Drive. At the same time, a white Toyota pickup truck passed the school bus and struck the child.

The child was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
