HENRY COUNTY, VA (December 21, 2020) – One person has lost their life after their involvement in a two-car crash that occurred in Henry County on Thursday, December 17. Several others were injured in the crash.
Virginia State Police along with paramedics and fire crews responded to the scene of the incident that took place around 3:00 p.m. on Route 57. The reason the accident occurred is currently under local law enforcement investigation.
According to police, a Pontiac Grand Am was headed west and attempting to turn left. A Chevrolet Cavalier attempted to pass the vehicle and struck the driver’s side.
The Pontiac’s driver, identified as Billie B. Nuckles from Axton, was killed in the crash. She was pronounced deceased at the accident scene by medical professionals.
Two passengers were injured in the crash and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. They were identified as a 16-year-old female and a 16-year-old male.
The teenage male was said to have sustained serious injuries in the crash, while the female sustained only minor injuries. The Cavalier’s driver was also transported to a nearby hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.
An 8-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy were also transported by ambulance for the treatment of minor injuries sustained in the accident. No one else involved in the crash has been identified to the public at this point in time.
