Hesperia, CA (September 19, 2023) – On Wednesday, September 13, Irwin Benjamin Sr., 61, died after a car hit him on Bear Valley Road between Third and Second Avenue.

At 5:54 a.m., the San Bernardino County Fire received the accident reports.

A white GMC 2500HD sweeper truck struck Irwin under uncertain conditions.

First responders rushed him to Desert Valley Hospital, then airlifted him to Antelope Valley Hospital.

Unfortunately, Irwin succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The truck’s driver stopped at a nearby parking lot and collaborated with the police.

Authorities closed two eastbound lanes on Bear Valley Road for their inquiry.

The investigation is still ongoing.
