High Ridge, MO – Hit-and-Run Crash on I-44 Leaves 1 in Critical Condition

High Ridge, MO (July 24, 2023) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol is searching for a hit-and-run driver from Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Westbound I-44 between Antire Road and Lewis Road saw the incident at 6:15 p.m.

MSHP reported that an unidentified truck towing an unknown trailer was eastbound on I-44 when a wheel detached.

Tragically, the loose wheel hit a westbound vehicle on the highway.

One person in the struck vehicle was critically injured.

The hit-and-run driver fled before police arrived.

The crash is under investigation for further details.
