Hillcrest Heights, MD (July 22, 2021) – A fire incident reported in the Hillcrest Heights area claimed the lives of several children on Monday morning. At approximately 2 a.m., on July 19, emergency crews were notified that a fire broke out inside a home on Iverson Street.

Reports from authorities show that a home located in the 2400 block of Iverson Street caught on fire during the morning hours. Several people were trapped inside the home. Firefighters rushed to the scene and began to battle the blaze in the two-story home.

Three people, identified only as two adults and one child, were able to exit the home.

Two other children were removed from the home and rushed to area hospitals where they passed away. A third child was located deceased inside the home.

Firefighters battled the blaze for an extended time before declaring the incident under control. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
