Hillsville, VA (January 5, 2020) – According to the Virginia State Police, a fatal car crash took place in Hillsville on Saturday, January 2, which prompted an emergency dispatch from local first responders.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m. on Route 221, less than one mile north of Route 100. According to the crash report, Timothy J. Davis, a 20-year-old male from Dugspur, was traveling in a 2008 Ford Focus when for unknown reasons, his vehicle left the roadway on the left side and overturned. It then struck a tree which forcibly ejected both the driver and passenger present in the vehicle.
Davis was transported by ambulance to Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax for treatment of injuries he sustained in the accident. His passenger, identified as 21-year-old Dakota Justice, of Hillsville, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The accident is currently under local law enforcement investigation at this time. According to information provided by a state police spokesperson, charges are pending concerning the death of 21-year-old Dakota Justice.
No further information has been released regarding the accident or its surrounding circumstances.
