Horseheads, NY (November 19, 2022) – A serious vehicle crash happened in Horseheads on Saturday, November 19. Shortly after 1:00 p.m., two vehicles crashed at an intersection near the Arnor Mall.
Reports indicate the incident occurred at the intersection of Chambers Road and one of the entrances into the parking lot of the mall, near the Speedway gas station.
An SUV and a sedan were involved in the collision. The SUV sustained significant damage to its front end in the crash. Both vehicles’ airbags were deployed and ambulances were observed at the scene.
Paramedics treated injured victims at the scene. Currently, the total number of injured victims has not been reported.
Traffic was delayed on Chambers Road while emergency crews were present. Access was limited to multiple lanes while traffic was pushed northbound, causing a bottleneck.
Chemung County Sheriff’s Deputies, New York State Police, and Big Flats Fire Department worked at the crash scene for an extended period of time. Authorities in Horseheads continue to investigate the details of the incident.
