Houston, TX ( July 25, 2023) – A fatal crash occurred at Martin Luther King Boulevard and East Orem Street intersection at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Monday, July 24th, 2023.
The incident involved a pedestrian.
According to the Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division, a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling eastbound on East Orem Street.
A black Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Both drivers stated they had the green light, and as the vehicles entered the intersection, the Honda collided with the Chevrolet.
The impact caused the Chevrolet to strike the pedestrian standing in the median between the lanes.
The Chevrolet rolled over and stopped on the grass median east of the intersection.
The Honda spun and struck a silver Mercury Grand Marquis waiting to turn left from East Orem onto Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The collision also caused the Mercury to strike a gray Nissan Versa.
Tragically, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver (38) and female passenger (17) of the Chevrolet, as well as the male driver (24) of the Honda, were transported to a local hospital.
The Nissan and Mercury drivers were not injured in the crash.
Houston police are investigating the incident to determine further details and the cause of the collision.
