Houston, TX (December 12, 2024) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a train and a propane truck in northwest Harris County on Wednesday morning. The crash occurred in the 24900 block of the US-290 Northwest Freeway, near Beltway 8.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a work truck carrying propane tanks was struck by a train while crossing a railroad trestle. The impact resulted in injuries to the two occupants in the truck, who were transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, both individuals are reported to be in good condition.
The Cy-Fair Fire Department confirmed that there were no environmental hazards or propane leaks following the crash. However, the eastbound feeder road traffic is currently being impacted as authorities work at the crash scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is leading the investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
