Howell County, MO (December 12, 2024) – A vehicle collision occurred Thursday evening on US 63, approximately five miles south of Willow Springs in Howell County. The crash, reported at 5:25 p.m., involved two vehicles and resulted in several injuries.
According to the investigation by Trooper L.J. Combs, the incident occurred when the driver of a 2017 Nissan Versa (Vehicle #1), a 51-year-old female from West Plains, MO, attempted to cross the roadway and pulled into the path of a 2018 Toyota Corolla (Vehicle #2), driven by a 28-year-old male from West Plains, MO. Vehicle #2 struck the side of Vehicle #1, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, and several individuals were injured. The 28-year-old male driver of the Toyota Corolla and his 18-year-old male passenger both sustained injuries and were transported to Ozarks Healthcare West Plains by South Howell Ambulance. The 51-year-old female driver of the Nissan Versa sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Willow Springs Ambulance to the same hospital.
Both vehicles were deemed a total loss and were towed from the scene by Midway Towing at the request of law enforcement. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and more details will be provided as the authorities continue their review.
