Huntington Beach, CA (July 7, 2023) – A 68-year-old man from Huntington Beach lost his life in a traffic collision on Wednesday afternoon, July 5, 2023.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. at Atlanta Avenue and Bushard Street.
A gray Mercedes Benz GLC and a silver Toyota Corolla were involved in the accident.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the seriously injured driver of the Corolla.
He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the local hospital, where he was taken.
The 23-year-old male driver of the Mercedes and two adult passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
Investigators, who do not suspect impairment, confirmed the GLC driver’s cooperation.
However, it remains unclear whether impairment affected the Corolla driver.
The Corolla ran a red light while heading south on Bushard Street, colliding with the westbound GLC.
The crash investigation is still ongoing.
