Ijamsville, MD (May 16, 2023) – Authorities confirmed that 62-year-old William Thornton lost his life as a result of a motorcycle accident that took place on Sunday afternoon, May 14.
At approximately 1:40 p.m., deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene of a crush on Urbana Pike.
Reports from authorities show that in 2016 Toyota Tundra pickup truck was traveling on Urbana Pike. As the vehicle attempted to turn onto Blackberry Drive, it collided with a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as Thornton, was fatally hurt in the incident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
