Jacksonville, FL – A I-95 Crash in Duval County Leaves a Child Fatally Injured

Jacksonville, FL (July 28, 2023)- According to Florida Highway Patrol, a child died in an overnight crash on I-95 in Duval County on July 28, 2023.

At mile marker 364 in a construction zone, a sedan, and a truck tractor headed south collided.

The sedan’s driver hit the truck tractor from behind after failing to slow down or stop.

The impact stopped both vehicles, blocking the right and center lanes facing south.

The 25-year-old sedan driver was critically injured, and the 9-year-old passenger died.

The 38-year-old truck tractor driver was lucky.

Traffic has returned to Pecan Park Road after being diverted. FHP says the investigation is still ongoing.
