Jacksonville, FL – Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-295 Near Roosevelt Boulevard, Rider Killed

Jacksonville, FL (July 19, 2023)- On Monday evening, July 17, 2023, a motorcyclist was killed on Interstate 295 near Roosevelt Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida.

The FHP reports that the rider hydroplaned in the center lane after attempting to switch lanes from the right.

The motorcyclist was hit from behind by a commercial truck tractor driven by a 57-year-old man who had tried to avoid the collision.

The biker, who was not wearing a helmet, was dead at the scene.

The truck driver, wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
