Rollover Crashes in Florida
Rollover accidents are some of the most severe and potentially life-threatening types of vehicle crashes. In Florida, rollovers frequently occur due to loss of control, high speeds, or sudden maneuvers on highways and exit ramps. When vehicles overturn, unrestrained occupants face a significantly increased risk of ejection, leading to critical injuries or fatalities.
In 2023, data from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) highlighted that rollover accidents contributed to a notable percentage of severe injury crashes in the state. Many of these incidents involved young or inexperienced drivers, emphasizing the importance of safety measures such as wearing seatbelts and adhering to speed limits.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to educate the public on the dangers of not wearing seatbelts and urges drivers and passengers to prioritize safety while on the road.
