Jefferson, MO (October 22, 2024) – A vehicle collision occurred on October 22, 2024, at approximately 7:07 AM on northbound US Highway 67, south of Route CC. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to assist those involved in the incident.
Preliminary reports indicate that the crash involved two vehicles: a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The accident occurred when the driver of the Equinox, identified as 52-year-old Christina Bankston from Desloge, began slowing down due to traffic ahead. The driver of the Toyota Corolla, 30-year-old Dylan Ives from Park Hills, failed to observe the slowing vehicle and collided with the rear of the Equinox. The impact caused the Equinox to travel partially off the left side of the roadway, where it struck the concrete median wall. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were deemed total losses, subsequently towed from the scene by Pippins Towing.
All individuals involved in the crash sustained injuries. Christina Bankston, who was wearing her safety device, was transported by Joachim Plattin Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital Jefferson for medical evaluation. Dylan Ives, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was also transported to the same hospital. Additionally, a 36-year-old male occupant in the Toyota Corolla, identified as Jamiedylan Bankson, was wearing his safety device and was treated for injuries at the hospital.
