Jewell. IA (February 11, 2024) – A severe single-vehicle accident on Saturday, February 10, led to life-threatening injuries for passenger Cody Dakota Haugen, 24, from Colo, Iowa. The crash occurred around 12:58 a.m. on Queens Ave, where the driver, Ross William Barker, 25, of Jewell, Iowa, lost control. The 2023 CANA Maverick swerved, plunged into the west ditch, and overturned.
Haugen, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was airlifted to Methodist Hospital by Life Flight. The Iowa State Patrol, alongside Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Jewell EMS, and Life Flight, responded to the scene.
