Johnson, MO (November 19, 2023) – A significant rear-end collision occurred on US 50 at NW 121st Rd in Johnson on Friday, November 17, at 6:29 PM, leading to moderate injuries.
Summer D. Hiser, a 26-year-old female from Independence, MO, was driving a 2012 Dodge eastbound when she collided with the rear of a 2003 Sterling, driven by Anthony D. Collins, 38, of Warrensburg, MO. The Sterling was slowing to turn northbound on 121st Rd when the crash happened.
Hiser, who was not using a safety device, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by JCAD. Her vehicle was towed from the scene due to total damage. Collins, who had proper safety measures in place, drove away with vehicle damage.
The incident is under investigation, assisted by several officers, including CPL C R Blackmon and TPR M G Bennett. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
