Juneau, AK (September 13, 2023) – A serious plane crash occurred near Excursion Inlet, roughly 35 miles from Juneau, on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

The U.S. Coast Guard was alerted by the plane’s emergency locator transmitter at 5:31 p.m. 

The Air Station Sitka MH-60 Jayhawk crew located the damaged single-engine aircraft around 7 p.m. 

They rescued the pilot, the only person on board, who was critically injured.

After the extraction, the victim was taken to Juneau airport. 

Emergency medical services awaited there for immediate care. 

The investigation is still ongoing.
