Kansas City, MO (February 2, 2025) – A fatal fire broke out overnight at a vacant church in Kansas City, Missouri, claiming the life of one individual. The Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) was dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a fire at the structure located in the 2400 block of Chestnut Ave.
Fire crews arrived to find the church engulfed in flames. As firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, they entered the building and discovered the victim inside. The fire was eventually brought under control, but the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
