Kansas City, MO – High-Speed Crash Injures Two After Hitting Light Pole and Tree

Kansas City, MO ( July 22, 2023) – A high-speed single-vehicle accident on Swope Parkway has left two people in critical condition.

A tan Chevrolet C10 was speeding south on Swope Parkway, dodging cars, at around 1 p.m. on a Saturday morning, July 22, 2023.

The driver swerved into oncoming traffic in an attempt to pass another vehicle, lost control, and collided with a metal light pole.

When the Chevy flipped and crashed into a tree, both the driver and passenger were thrown clear.

Both the driver and passenger were taken by ambulance to local hospitals with serious injuries.

KCPD is looking into whether or not impairment played a role in the collision.
