Kansas City, MO (July 27, 2023) – One driver was critically injured in Kansas City on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
The Kansas City Police Department pursued a stolen red Toyota Corolla suspected of robbery and carjacking.
The suspect vehicle fled from responding officers after finding multiple suspects attempting another robbery on East 101st Terr.
A black Volvo T6 braked to avoid the Toyota entering southbound I-435 from Bannister during the pursuit.
A red Freightliner rear-ended the Volvo, sending it across all lanes of I-435 and into a ditch.
The Freightliner also collided with the Toyota.
The Volvo driver was hospitalized in critical condition.
The carjacking suspects beat the first victim, hospitalized in stable condition.
The investigation is underway.
