Kansas City, MO (July 27, 2023) – In south Kansas City, Missouri, a tragic semi-truck crash happened on Thursday morning, July 27, 2023.
The Kansas City Fire Department responded to the accident on eastbound I-435 near Grandview Road shortly after 8:45 a.m.
The scene revealed a semi-truck had collided with the outer barrier of I-435.
Tragically, the semi-driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.
The impact caused the semi-truck to catch fire, filling the interstate with smoke.
The Kansas City Fire Department utilized multiple pumpers and a Hazmat water tanker to control the blaze.
In addition to the fire department, Kansas City police and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) crews were also at the scene to assist with the situation.
