Kansas, MO – Hit-and-Run Crash on Linwood Blvd Leaves Pedestrian Critically Injured

Kansas, MO (July 7, 2023) – A pedestrian suffered critical injuries in a high-speed hit-and-run crash on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight as the pedestrian walked southbound on Linwood Boulevard, just east of Benton Boulevard.

At approximately 12:50 a.m., a vehicle collided with the pedestrian and fled the scene without stopping.

KCPD is actively searching for a dark-colored 2013 to 2016 Chevrolet Malibu based on debris found at the crash site.

The vehicle’s front right area appears damaged, possibly affecting the hood and windshield.

The injured pedestrian was swiftly transported to a local hospital, where they are currently being treated for critical injuries.

Medical professionals expect the pedestrian to survive.
