Kansas, MO – Two-Vehicle Crash Claims Life of Olathe Woman, Injures Shawnee Teenager

Kansas, MO (July 20, 2023)- An Olathe woman died, and a Shawnee teen was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Lenexa on Wednesday afternoon, July 19, 2023.

The Kansas Highway Patrol Crash Log reported the incident on southbound Kansas 7 Highway near 95th Street at 4:42 p.m.

Holly Thomas, 49, from Olathe, was driving her 2017 Nissan Rogue north on Kansas 7 Highway when, for unknown reasons, she crossed the median and collided head-on with a southbound 2008 Jeep Commander driven by 18-year-old Mia Kate Reuter from Shawnee.

The crash log showed Holly Thomas and Mia Kate Reuter were restrained. Holly Thomas died, while Mia Kate Reuter was treated for minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
