Kennett Square, PA (October 23, 2024) – An apartment fire was reported on October 22 at approximately 1:38 PM at 515 Center St. Emergency units were dispatched to the scene following reports of a possible building fire, and upon arrival, they observed smoke emanating from the structure.

Firefighters quickly assessed the situation and found that the sprinkler system had activated, which appeared to have successfully suppressed the fire at that time. The incident was located in the rear building near Las Rosas, prompting a coordinated response from local fire and emergency services.

By 1:46 PM, interior crews reported that the fire was caused by unattended cooking, which triggered the sprinkler system. Fortunately, the sprinklers' activation played a critical role in controlling the flames and preventing further damage.

At 1:59 PM, the command reported that one civilian sustained a burn injury as a result of the incident. Emergency medical services were on standby to provide care and transport if necessary.

By 2:00 PM, the fire was declared under control, and units on the scene were instructed to hold their positions for further assessment and investigation.
